COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

Columbia police are investigating after a burglary alarm sounded at a local gun shop early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to the alarm around 1 a.m. at King's Firearms and More located at 505 North Garden Street and found signs of entry through a rear window.

When police arrived, the suspects who broke in were gone.

Officials quickly set up a perimeter due to the nature of the business and called for a SWAT team.

The Franklin Police Department sent a K9 unit to help assist with the investigation.

Shortly after daybreak, the SWAT team deployed a gas substance into the building in an effort to drive out a possible suspect out.

After determining no one was inside the building, officials started their investigation.

According to the Columbia Daily Herald, surveillance video showed four masked suspects breaking in through a window frame to get inside.

The masked suspects, all dressed in hooded sweatshirts, were seen walking across the parking lot to the store before tearing down a camera.

Columbia police said it appears the men didn't take anything but the investigation is ongoing.

A portion of North Garden Street was shutdown for several hours as a precaution. It has since reopened.

Anyone with information is urged to call Columbia police at 931-380-2721.
