Truck hauling frozen chicken crashes off I-40

MT. JULIET, Tenn. -

A truck hauling frozen chicken crashed early Tuesday morning on Interstate 40 in Mt. Juliet.

The accident was reported around 1:30 a.m. on I-40 West near mile marker 229 near the exit for Beckwith Road.

A passerby told Nashville's News 2 the truck was far off the side of the road and several emergency vehicles were on the scene.

Crews worked to remove the frozen chicken from the trailer and cut tree limbs to help free it from a ditch.

The scene was cleared shortly after 9 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.

No one was injured.
