NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A bus driver was hospitalized after he suffered a medical issue and drove off Interstate 40 Thursday morning.
The incident happened just after 5 a.m. on I-40 West at exit 215A near Briley Parkway.
According to Metro police, the driver of the Gaylord Opryland bus may have blacked out before driving off the roadway. The driver was the only one on the bus at the time of the incident.
He was transported to Centennial Medical Center and was last listed in critical condition.
The bus was eventually towed away and all lanes have reopened.
No further details were immediately released.
