Man wanted for stealing woman's car at Clarksville gas station

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police are working to identify a man who stole a woman's car while she was inside an area gas station late last week.

The theft was reported last Friday at the Shell Station located at 600 Rossview Road.

According to a report in the Clarksville Online, the vehicle's owner reported to police she had left her keys inside her 2005 Nissan Altima as she went inside the store.

Upon exiting the store, the woman discovered her car had been stolen.

An officer located the vehicle on the 76 Connector shortly after it was reported stolen, however the driver fled onto Interstate 24 at a high speed.

The abandoned Nissan was located late Friday afternoon in the 900 block of Power Street.

Witnesses reported the suspect is believed to be in his 30s and is around five feet, 11 inches tall and weighs between 150 to 170 pounds. He also has a goatee.
