SMYRNA, Tenn. -

In late November of 2012 the Smyrna Police Department asked for the public's help in locating two suspects that went into Gil's Ace Hardware in Smyrna and stole power tools.

Detectives received tips from the general public as to the identity of these individuals.

On January 4 Raymond Davy Jr., 32, and Steven Ballard, 29, both of Murfreesboro were arrested and charged with theft over $500.

Both individuals pled guilty on January 22 in court and were placed on 11 months and 29 days probation. Both men agreed to pay restitution to the hardware store.

The Smyrna Police Department credits the public for providing them with information that led to the men's arrests.
