Scobey Sowell pled guilty Friday to the aggravated sexual battery of an 11-year old boy.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A man set to go on trial this week for attacking a boy inside a public restroom at Centennial Park has pleaded guilty.
Scobey Sowell pled guilty Friday to the aggravated sexual battery of a then-11-year old boy in May of 2008.
Sowell was inside the restroom when the boy entered, and he asked the victim for money before assaulting him.
Sowell left the area on a bike.
The victim told a guardian immediately after the attack and was able to point out Sowell as he left.
Sowell was later apprehended and arrested.
The case was continued for some time while Sowell underwent mental evaluation. His trial was set to begin Monday.
As part of Sowell's guilty plea, he will serve a sentence of 15 years at 100%.
