Train, car collide in Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Emergency crews are investigating what could have been a very serious accident after a train hit a car Monday night in Madison.

Nashville's News 2 was the first crew on the scene following the collision on Nesbitt Lane near Gallatin Pike North.

Police said it appears the car failed to stop, crossed the tracks and the train clipped the back end.

The accident was reported just after 9 p.m.

No one was injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
