Crash kills 2, injures 1 in Bedford County - WKRN, Nashville News, Nashville Weather and Sports

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people and injured another early Sunday morning in Shelbyville.

Driver Nathan Pugh, 29, and front seat passenger Benjamin Ray, 28, were killed.  Backseat passenger Andrew Clanton, 22, was injured.

Officials said Pugh's pickup truck ran off the side of Highway 64 before going down a ditch and hitting a culvert.

Pugh's vehicle continued on before it traveled back across the roadway and struck a tree. The truck came to a rest in a yard.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Officials said alcohol may have played a role.
