MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
Murfreesboro residents were displaced after an apartment caught fire Sunday morning.
The Murfreesboro Fire Department responded to the fire just after 9:30 a.m. at The Kings Crossing Apartments in the 1700 block of East Northfield Boulevard, not far from the Murfreesboro Municipal Airport.
First responders discovered heavy flames from the downstairs apartment window.
Most damage happened to the bedroom in apartment O-1.
The upstairs apartment mostly received smoke damage.
The American Red Cross stepped in to assist the residents. No injuries were reported.
"Crews did a great job getting the fire knocked down," said Acting Shift Commander Joe Barrett.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
