NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A double shooting in west Nashville Friday night left a man dead and his girlfriend seriously injured.

The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. at an apartment on Booker Street off 28th Avenue North.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Christopher Shipp and another man entered the apartment demanding money. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found inside.

Dwight Bond, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His girlfriend, Wendy Goodrich, 38, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was last listed in stable condition.

Metro police were on the scene until 4 a.m. Saturday collecting evidence.  The investigation is ongoing.

At the time of the shooting, police said Shipp, 20, was free on a $55,500 bond for felony cocaine, marijuana and weapon possession charges from an incident that occurred in December.

Police have issued arrest warrants against Shipp, charging him for criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
