NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
United and American Airlines have canceled flights into Nashville Thursday night and early Friday morning due to winter weather concerns.
The airlines made the decision to cancel flights came after a winter weather advisory was issued for Nashville and most of Middle Tennessee.
The advisory is in effect from Midnight Thursday through Noon Friday.
Freezing rain and sleet are forecasted during the advisory period. The National Weather Service in Nashville says the main impact will be icing of trees, power lines and roads. Ice accumulation up to two tenths of an inch is possible.
