Two people were arrested for shoplifting at a Clarksville department store Monday.
According to a news release, officers were dispatched just before 10 p.m. to the Kohl's store at 2849 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard after an employee contacted police.
A responding officer made contact with one suspect, later identified as Michael Mulgrew, outside of the store.
Upon a consented search, police discovered Mulgrew had multiple wallets with price tags still attached and a prescription bottle that contained multiple types of prescription pills.
The officer spoke with Kohl's employees and discovered Mulgrew had been stashing stolen items in the bushes outside of the store front.
All of the stolen merchandise was recovered.
Police also caught up with his accomplice, Rachel Preston, who concealed stolen items in her purse.
Preston left the store and disposed of her purse across the parking lot.
Mulgrew and Preston stole over $1,900 of merchandise from the store.
