Antioch High School in Nashville was on lockdown for several hours Tuesday after a report of a gun in the building.
The school was placed on lockdown around 8:30 a.m. after a student saw what was thought to be a gun and told a parent.
The parent called Metro police.
Officers responded to the school, searched the building and found what was described as two air soft guns. One was recovered in a trash can in a locker room adjacent to the gym. The second was found behind a toilet in a boy's restroom.
The school was taken off lockdown around 1 p.m.
During the search, officers discovered a former 16-year-old student hiding in a mechanical room on the school's property.
Authorities said the minor is currently enrolled at a Rutherford County school and had not attended the Antioch school in several weeks. The teen reportedly came to the high school to see another Antioch student with whom he is acquainted with.
The former student faces trespassing charges.
No charges were filed in connection to the air soft gun.
