NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Two people are dead after a fiery crash in south Nashville on Sunday.
Health records have identified the driver as Larry Bowers, 48, of Nashville, and the passenger as Mitch Sweatt, 28, of Gallatin.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Wheeler Avenue near Tibbs Drive off Nolensville Pike.
According to Metro police, Bowers was driving a 1993 Lexus sedan when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. The vehicle burst into flames as he returned to the roadway.
Further details were not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
