Women injured in drive-by shooting in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Two women were injured in a shooting following a fight at a Clarksville nightclub early Friday morning.

According to a news release, the victims had just left a club located at 1348 College Street and were passengers in a car that was fired upon while traveling west on Kraft Street around 1:45 a.m.

Police said the gunman was seated in the front passenger seat of a Buick that pulled up next to the victim's vehicle.

The two women were sitting in the backseat at the time of the shooting.  One was struck in the leg and the other was struck in the knee.

Police intercepted the victims' vehicle and the women were taken to nearby Gateway Medical Center.

The woman shot in the knee was evaluated and released.  The woman shot in the leg was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The victims told police they did not know the occupants in the Buick, which they say sped off toward college Street.

The vehicle is described as dark colored, possibly black, green or dark gray, and believed to be a 1998 to 2001 Buick LeSabre.

Additional suspect information was not known.
