Man, woman arrested for making meth at Cookeville motel

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -

Authorities in Cookeville arrested a homeless man and woman at an area motel after it was discovered they were cooking methamphetamine.

According to a report in the Herald Citizen, Grady Peay Jr., 37, and Paula Lacommare, 41, were taken into custody by a Putnam County Sheriff's deputy at the Key West Inn located on South Willow Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Responding law officers reported they discovered muriatic acid, Drano and lithium batteries, among other items used to manufacture meth after receiving permission to search the motel room.

The pair is said to have admitted to manufacturing the illegal drug.

Peay and Lacommare were booked into the Putnam County jail on a $20,000 bond. They are both scheduled to appear in court on February 11.
