Fire damages vacant north Nashville home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A fire heavily damaged a vacant north Nashville home early Tuesday evening.

The fire was reported at a home located at 24th Avenue North near Hamilton Street around 4 p.m.

Firefighters on the scene told Nashville's News 2 upon their arrival the flames were so heavy they were unable to enter the home.

Crews were forced to battle the blaze from outside the residence.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
