FAIRVIEW, Tenn. -

A Fairview teacher and coach killed in a single car accident last week was laid to rest on Monday.

The funeral for Donna Bledsoe was held at 2 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.

Bledsoe was killed last Thursday night in an accident that occurred on Interstate 40 west of Bellevue.

Authorities said Bledsoe ran off the left side of the road before she struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to over turn.

Bledsoe was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Bledsoe had been a physical education teacher at Fairview Middle School for many years. She also coached several sports including track and field, cross country and volleyball and was an assistant coach for the Fairview High School girls' basketball team.

Her husband, Ricky Bledsoe, is an educator at Fairview High School.
