NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Nashville firefighters were able to pull a 93-year-old woman from her home after a fire broke out Monday afternoon.
The fire was reported just after 4 p.m. at a home located in the 2500 block of Gardner Lane located in northern Davidson County.
The elderly victim was found inside a bathtub inside the home. Officials believe she was trying to get away from the fire.
The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for smoke inhalation. She was last listed in critical condition.
Crews also rescued a dog from inside the home. The canine is safe and is currently staying with neighbors.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
