Dozens of Nashville restaurants and cafes will offer special discounts this week as part of Nashville Originals' Restaurant Week.
More than 40 independent restaurants will be participating in the weeklong event, offering two and three course meals for a discounted price.
"Supporting local restaurants means that those dollars goes into some of those same servers and same companies that go out and spend money in your neighborhoods rather its gas stations, other restaurants or things like that, so it really gives back to the community," Chef Keith West of Puckett's Grocery told Nashville's News 2.
Nashville Originals is a group of local restaurants that joined together to increase the visibility and viability of locally owned restaurants.
"January is a great time of year, because folks aren't getting out a whole lot. They are sort of recovering from Christmas and that so it gives them a chance, a real value based chance of people to introduce themselves to new restaurants." West explained.
Nashville's Restaurant Week continues through Sunday, January 20.
Prices range between $20.11 and $30.11 for either a two or three course meal. Several restaurants are also offering drink specials.
