A 32-year-old Clarksville mother faces charges after her two small children were found outside unattended late Friday night. A 21-year-old man called police after he found the girls, ages two and five, wandering around outside an apartment complex around 11:30 p.m. He kept the children with him until officers arrived on the scene. Upon their arrival, police said the five-year-old girl was able to tell the officer where they lived. Police went to the family's apartment and located the children's mother, Candace Sellner. Prior to their arrival, Sellner told police she had been using a computer and wearing headphones. She was unaware her children had left the apartment.The girl's father, who was at work at the time of the incident, was notified. He returned home a short time later. Responding officers said the apartment was in deplorable condition, with clothes and trash scattered across the floor and bugs crawling on the walls. DCS was also contacted and are investigating. Sellner is charged with child abuse and neglect. She was booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $1,000 bond.
