NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A 28-year-old Fairview woman was killed after crashing her Ford pickup truck on Highway 100 in west Nashville overnight Thursday.
Metro police said Lacy Wilkerson ran off the roadway near Old Hickory Boulevard and struck a stone pillar.
She was pronounced dead by responding officers.
Police did find evidence of alcohol at the scene. An autopsy will be performed.
Police said Wilkerson was not wearing a seatbelt.
A short time later, as a second vehicle was passing by the crash, the driver hit a stray tire on the road and also crashed. He was not seriously injured.
Highway 100 was shutdown in both directions for several hours while police investigated.
The road has since reopened.
