Plan to add more SROs in Wilson County schools moves forward

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

Wilson County commissioners voted to move forward with plans to add a dozen addition school resource officers to elementary schools.

Commissioners estimate each new SRO will cost the county an additional $24,000.

The cities of Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, as well as the Wilson County School Board and Lebanon Special School District, are chipping in to foot the bill for the year.

The plan will be presented to the budget committee next week.
