A grand jury will hear the case against a Cheatham County father arrested last week for the alleged abuse of his infant son.
Wesley Scott, 26, is charged with aggravated child abuse and admitted to violently shaking the then seven-week-old child.
According to the sheriff's office, the baby boy suffered multiple rib fractures, head injuries and bleeding on his brain.
Scott, of Chapmansboro, appeared in a Cheatham County courtroom Wednesday morning where he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
The case was bound over to the grand jury.
A judge agreed to reduce Scott's bond to $75,000. However, should he be released on bond, Scott must wear a GPS monitoring device and can have no contact with the victim.
The baby boy remains at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in stable condition.
