MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A 28-year-old bartender was charged with his fifth DUI early Saturday morning in Murfreesboro.

According to police, Ryan Sidebottom was involved in a crash on North Rutherford Boulevard just before 2 a.m. and fled the scene.

Officers located him a short time later sitting under a tree at the intersection of Rutherford Boulevard and Greenland Drive.

Arresting officers stated Sidebottom smelled of alcohol and had blood shot eyes and slurred speech.

Police discovered several open containers of alcohol inside his vehicle.

Sidebottom is charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, among other charges.

Authorities said he also had a warrant out of Sumner County for a previous DUI offense.

He has been transported to Sumner County where he remains jailed on a $15,000 bond.
