FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
A 25-year-old Franklin man was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle and struck by an oncoming vehicle Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on South Carothers Drive near the Falcon Creek subdivision.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Kory Dickey.
A witness told police he was traveling south when he lost control of the bike and went airborne.
Dickey was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Investigators believe speed may have played a role in the accident.
The accident is the second fatal accident in Williamson County this year.
Last week, a 34-year-old man was killed in an accident that had the exit ramp from Interstate 65 North to Cool Springs Boulevard shutdown for several hours.
