3 dead in murder-suicide in Ky.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. -

Three members of a Hopkinsville family died Saturday morning in an apparent murder-suicide.

Officers responded to a shots fired call at a home on Hillaire Drive around 9:45 a.m.

Inside the home, police found 67-year-old Linda Summers and her husband, 68-year-old Tommie Summers, dead from gunshot wounds.

The couple's son, Brian Summers, 38, passed away at a nearby hospital a short time later.

In a news release Monday morning, detectives said Tommie Summers shot his wife and then his son before turning the gun on himself.

Additional information was not released.
