Man, 31, charged in connection to Tullahoma abduction

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. -

Authorities arrested a 31-year-old man in connection to the abduction of a Tullahoma woman earlier this week.

Billy Joe Nelson is charged with carjacking after Tullahoma police say he jumped in the victim's car, drove off with her and later assaulted her.

The victim managed to get away when Nelson stopped at an apartment complex.

Nelson was booked into the Coffee County jail.

Police said they will likely have additional charges against him as they gather more evidence.
