Hopkinsville man arrested after foot pursuit

MADISONVILLE, Ky. -

Police arrested a Hopkinsville man on Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop led to a short foot pursuit.

The incident involving Courtney Williams occurred just before 4 p.m. after a trooper initiated a traffic stop on Hall Street in Madisonville, Kentucky for a traffic violation.

Authorities reported as soon as the 22-year-old man pulled over he immediately fled the vehicle on foot.

He was taken into custody following a brief chase on foot a short time later.

Williams faces multiple charges including driving on a suspended license and evading arrest.

He was booked into the Hopkins County jail.
