Spring Hill band director dies on New Year's Day

SPRING HILL, Tenn. -

Residents in Spring Hill are mourning the loss of a legacy this week.

Daryl Jack, Spring Hill High School's longtime band director and music teacher, passed away on New Year's Day at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

According to The Columbia Daily Herald, the 57-year-old was considered a major contributor to the Spring Hill music scene.

He directed the high school band since 1989.

Jack had been in the intensive care unit at the hospital since November for an unknown illness.

A visitation has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Hill High School gym at 1 Raider Lane in Columbia.

Services will follow at 2 p.m.
