Nashville woman faces TennCare fraud for doctor shopping

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A Davidson County woman was charged with TennCare fraud for doctor shopping on Wednesday.

Authorities reported 28-year-old Kristie Casey used TennCare to go to multiple doctors in a short period of time to obtain the painkiller Oxycodone.

TennCare fraud is a Class E felony that carries a sentence of up to two years in prison per charge.

Anyone who suspects TennCare fraud can report it by calling 1-800-433-3982.
