Clarksville driver crashes into pole after brakes fail

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police said a driver crashed into a utility pole Wednesday afternoon after her brakes failed.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Crossland Avenue.

The driver of the 1994 Chevy S-10, Rhonda Reed, said she made a sharp left turn, causing her to collide with a utility pole, to avoid hitting another vehicle or entering the intersection.

No injuries were reported.

Reed reported she had recently had the brakes checked. No defects were found.

A citation was not issued.
