Water main break closes south Nashville road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A portion of a south Nashville road was shutdown for several hours Wednesday morning following a water main break.

The break was reported just before 5 a.m. along Welch Road off Nolensville Pike near Harding Place.

One lane of Welch Road was closed because pressure from the water caused the pavement to come loose and buckle.

The water department responded to the scene shortly before 7 a.m.

The break was repaired a short time later.

Area water customers were unaffected by the break.
