Dreary Weather Start To 2013!

This New Year's Day is a good one to sit on the couch and watch football!

Temperatures will fall from this morning's 40s through the 30s this afternoon.

You can see the fog that was quite thick in some areas this morning on the picture of the News 2 City Cam to the right.

Although Predictor shows the steady rains just south and east of Nashville, there still could be some showers and fog in the Music City, as well through the mid day hours.

Late this afternoon and this evening we could see a some of the rain end as a mix of rain, sleet, and snow, especially from Nashville north and east.

Although no accumulation is expected, temperatures will drop below freezing after 9pm.  So if there is any moisture on the roads after 9pm, we could see a few slick spots.

However, the precipitation should be pushing out as the sub-freezing temperatures push in.

Lows should drop to the mid 20s by daybreak Wednesday.

Clouds should give way to some sun Wednesday afternoon with highs in the upper 30s.
