More donations equal more jobs for Goodwill

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

2012 was a good year for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee.

The mission-driven company provided training and job services to more than 16,000 people.

More than 3,000 people found jobs with the hundreds of employers partnered with Goodwill.

"Goodwill is all about helping people with disabilities or other barriers to employment to become gainfully employed and to successfully retain those jobs," said Debbie Grant, Career Solutions Development Director for Goodwill.

Goodwill boosted its own employment numbers, too. Currently, more than 2,000 workers are directly employed by Goodwill Industries.

Company management credits networking, hiring practices and donations for the success of 2012.

"When you give to Goodwill, you're helping somebody get a job," said Grant. "That's not just a line. That's the truth."

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee
is based in Nashville and operates 30 retail stores, 68 donation sites and 18 Career Solution offices.
