Sunny, Chilly Sunday; Wet Start to New Year

The snow is gone and skies will be mostly sunny today (Sunday).

Although highs will only reach the upper 30s, light winds and the sunshine will make it more tolerable!

Clouds will increase tonight with rain following on Monday.

Models want to hold the rain off until Monday afternoon, but we can't rule out a shower slipping in earlier, so if you are headed to the Music City Bowl, it won't hurt to bring some rain gear in case showers arrive during the game.

The leading edge of the rain could be mixed with sleet, but surface  temperatures will be well above freezing, reaching the mid 40s Monday.

The rain will increase Monday night (New Year's Eve) through New Year's Day, bringing 2013 in on a wet note.

The rest of the week looks pretty chilly with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.

INTERESTING NOTE: Thursday night and Friday, computer models bring a strong upper level low into the area.  The models show moisture is lacking.  However, if this verifies I think that we very well could see a snow chance then.  HOWEVER, please note that we are 5 days out, so models could very well flip flop on this.  Stick with us, we'll update you as the week rolls on.
