Woman chases after thieves in effort to save dogs

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Clarksville woman chased after two thieves early Thursday morning after she discovered the pair was stealing her two dogs among other belongings.

According to a report in the Leaf Chronicle, the 61-year-old woman said she heard her pets barking in an unusual manner around 6:15 a.m.

The victim reported upon looking outside to see what the dogs were barking at she saw two people dressed in dark clothing in her backyard.

The two suspects were each carrying a dog. In addition to the two dogs, the suspects were also attempting to get away with a grill and a wheelbarrow.

The Autumn Drive resident said she ran outside yelling at the two thieves who fled the yard with the dogs.
The woman continued to chase after the pair until they dropped her dogs in a field before continuing to flee on foot.

Both of the dogs were recovered. One of the canines sustained a tail injury in the incident.

Police have yet to identify the suspects.
