NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police are investigating after two people collided head-on at a south Nashville intersection late Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded to the accident shortly after 10 p.m. on Nolensville Pike at Brewer Drive, north of Old Hickory Boulevard.

According to a news release, Kevin Anderson, 38, was driving a Toyota Corolla north on Nolensville Pike when he was struck by a Honda CRV driven by 55-year-old Ae Yim, who was traveling west on Brewer Drive.

The preliminary contributing factor to the crash is failure to yield on the part of Yim.

Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was listed Friday in critical condition.

Yim was also transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in stable condition.

Metro police said there was evidence on the scene of alcohol consumption by Anderson.

Toxicology testing will be conducted.
