Late Scout honored for Eagle project

WHITE BLUFF, Tenn. -

On Thursday night, a late Scout from Troop 593 in Dickson will be honored for his work and will be awarded with an Eagle Scout rank.

Caleb Holman died following a pool accident on July 4. The 17-year-old was just months away from beginning work on his Eagle Scout service project.

The teen had planned to add benches and trash containers at Volunteer Park in White Bluff.

Caleb's family previously told Nashville's News 2 he came up with the project after spending a lot of time at the park with his friends and realizing there was no place to sit.

Earlier this month, dozens of volunteers stepped up to make his dream come true, in his honor.

On Thursday night, Caleb's parents Mike and Becky Holman will be awarded the Eagle medal in a ceremony at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dickson.
