NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Metro Public Works and Metro Parks and Recreation have 11 drop off sites for residents to recycle their live Christmas trees.
Almost 18,000 Christmas trees are recycled each year through the drop off program. Trees are collected for mulch at the city's Bordeaux Mulch Facility.
All trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel and garland.
Metro Public Works and Metro Parks will be accepting Christmas trees starting Thursday, December 27th, through Friday, February 15th.

The Hillwood High School Band is also picking up Christmas trees the first three Saturdays after Christmas. They're asking for a donation of $10. All proceeds go to support the band program. They'll be picking up trees on December 29, January 5 and January 12.
