Dickson County woman's death being investigated as homicide

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Dickson County woman's death as a homicide.

Twenty-one-year-old Ashlee Long was discovered deceased inside her home located in the 100 block of Bishop Lane by her mother and step-father on Saturday.

Investigators said a preliminary autopsy revealed Long died from blunt force trauma.

Her husband, Morris Long, remains hospitalized after he stepped into traffic and was struck by a truck on Interstate 40 on Saturday.

Ashlee Long's funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon in Burns, about 40 miles away from Nashville.

She is survived by her two children, parents, brother and grandparents.

No arrests have been made in the case.
