Fire crews rescue man from balcony after apartment catches fire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Nashville firefighters rescued a man from his apartment balcony Wednesday morning after his kitchen caught fire.


Emergency crews responded to the fire just after 2 a.m. at the complex located in the 800 block of Murfreesboro Pike in south Nashville.


Initial reports indicated that the man was trapped on his balcony due to the blaze. 


Authorities told Nashville's News 2 he panicked and ran out on the ledge when the fire started.


Firefighters were able to bring him down by ladder shortly after they arrived.


The man was not injured and the fire damage was contained to just the one apartment.


No further details were immediately released.
