CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Clarksville man threw a cup at his four-year-old son Thursday evening, cutting the child's lip.

According The Leaf Chronicle, Wilfredo Valcarcel was putting his child to bed when the child started to cry.

Valcarcel's ex-girlfriend, who lives in the home, heard a smack and went to investigate.

When she went in the room she saw that the child's lip was bleeding and his cheek was red, according to the report.

Valcarcel told his ex that he threw a cup at the child and if she didn't like it she could leave, the report stated.

Valcarcel later denied those allegations to police.

He was charged with child abuse and neglect and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $10,000 bond.
