A man accused of stealing packages off people's porches is in jail. Police say he was driving around Old Hickory looking for deliveries that hadn't been picked up yet by homeowners.
Hermitage precinct officers pulled over Kory Harding on a tip.
Inside his truck they found more than a dozen packages. All of them were addressed to other people.
Detectives searched his home Thursday night. They found more stolen packages and a semi-automatic pistol.
In addition to felony theft and driving on a suspended license, Harding will also be charged with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.
Harding was convicted of attempted robbery in 1999, felony cocaine possession in 2000 and unlawful firearm possession that same year.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is assisting in the investigation.
Detectives will be turning the packages over to the original carriers for redelivery.
