Arrest made in fatal Lebanon shooting

LEBANON, Tenn. -

Lebanon police have arrested a man for Thursday's fatal shooting of 21-year-old Desmine Watts.

Investigators said Watts was shot around 4 p.m. on the porch of a home located at 326 South Maple Street.

Police arrested and charged 27-year-old Michael Starks with criminal homicide for the shooting. 

Starks lives at the South Maple Street address.

Initial reports indicated that Watts was shot multiple times.  He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he died.

The investigation is ongoing.  No motive has been determined.

Starks is also charged with shooting at a vehicle on Interstate 40 in Mt. Juliet just 30 minutes after the fatal shooting.

Officers received a 911 call from a driver who stated their vehicle had been shot.

There were three adults and two children in the vehicle at the time.  The car was hit once in the driver's side door.  No one was injured.

Starks additionally faces five counts each of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

He is being held in the Wilson County jail on a $1 million bond.
