NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police are looking for a man who robbed a gas station at knifepoint early Tuesday morning in the Priest Lake area.

The robbery happened just before 2 a.m. at the Mapco on Smith Springs Road at Anderson Road.

Police told Nashville's News 2 a man between five feet, six inches tall and five feet, 10 inches tall walked behind the counter and flashed a knife at the clerk.

The suspect demanded money and took an unknown amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

The clerk told police he was a black male wearing an army green, large, puffy jacket.

A K9 unit was unable to track the suspect.

Police say the suspect may be linked to an aggravated assault and attempted robbery that happened at the Dairy Queen on Murfreesboro Road in south Nashville a few hours prior.

Anyone with information is urged to call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

There was a shooting at the same Mapco two weeks ago.
