Authorities in Maury County have arrested a 19-year-old for a statement he made on Facebook threatening to go on a rampage similar to the one in Connecticut.
Shawn Lenz was taken into custody Sunday morning following the Facebook post.
In full, the Facebook post read, "feel like goin on a rampage, kinda like the school shooting were that one guy killed some teachers and a bunch of students."
Authorities were alerted by concerned citizens, including one person from as far away as Georgia who saw Lenz's comment online.
"This morning we had some people come in concerned about what their daughter had seen on Facebook," Cpt. Jimmy Tennyson of the Maury County Sheriff's Department told Nashville's News 2.
In a 911 call one concerned citizen said, "I am calling to report a strange Facebook post I saw this morning. It says feel like going on a rampage kind of like the school shooting where that guy killed a teacher and a bunch of students."
The call continued, "We don't know this person. My daughter is just friends with him on Facebook, but he has had some other weird posts about the world ending on the 21st and some kind of quote about death is his favorite quotation."
