Teen collides with ambulance during morning commute

A teenager on her way to school collided with an ambulance along a busy roadway Friday morning.

The incident was reported around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Gallatin Pike and Hart Lane.

Metro police told Nashville's News 2 the 17-year-old girl veered into the path of the ambulance and side swiped it.

She told police she was attempting to turn onto Hart Lane and did not see the ambulance.

No one was injured.

The teen's Pontiac Sunfire received minor front end damage.

One lane of Gallatin Pike was shutdown for over an hour while police and fire officials investigated the scene and waited for a tow truck to arrive.

No patients were in the ambulance at the time of the accident.

No further details were immediately released.
