NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police arrested a 24-year-old Wisconsin man early Friday morning after he trespassed at an exclusive Nashville estate.

Sources told Nashville's News 2 the estate belongs to Taylor Swift.

Online reports reveal Swift bought the Harding Place home, possibly for her parents, in 2011 for $2.5 million.

Davidson County Assessor of Property records don't list Swift as the buyer but list the name of a trustee.

According to an arrest warrant, Jacob Kulke climbed a fence and a secured gate to the house but was stopped by security.

Kulke had a pocketknife on him at the time of his arrest.

He told police that he was in contact with someone at the house through social media. He said he was dating her, it was her birthday and he wanted to surprise her.

Swift's birthday is December 13.

Police said Kulke told them he took a bus from Wisconsin and then a taxi from a Nashville bus stop to the house.

According to arrest records, Kulke lives in Mashfield, Wisconsin.

Kulke's Twitter account showed a post Thursday stating, "Happy Birthday @taylorswift13."

Two days earlier, he tweeted, "Had to go and see about a girl."

He was charged with criminal trespassing and booked into the Metro jail just before 2 a.m. Friday.  His bond was set at $10,000.

A December 19 court date has been set.

Kulke's attorney, Sean McKinney, told Nashville's News 2,"I think this whole thing is a result of a misunderstanding on the behalf of the security guard. I guess it wasn't even the Swift's residence. I understood that it was a guest house."

McKinney added, "[Kulke] has a great deal of respect for Ms. Swift and her privacy. I don't think she was ever in any kind of danger and neither was her family."

Metro police said Kulke is also wanted in Brighton, Colorado for contempt of court/probation violation in regard to a burglary case.

Colorado authorities report they will extradite Kulke once the Nashville charge is adjudicated.
