Maury County sheriff's deputy arrested in Internet sex sting

COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

A Maury County sheriff's deputy was arrested Wednesday on child sex charges.

Maury County Sheriff Enoch George told Nashville's News 2 Deputy Jackie Sands was arrested following an Internet sex sting investigation conducted by the Dickson County Sheriff's Department.

He was charged with solicitation of sex with a minor, a Class E felony, and booked into the Dickson County jail on a $15,000 bond.

Sands lives in Giles County.

His employment at the Maury County Sheriff's Office has been terminated, Sheriff George said.
